The GM Series of microphones is a unique, innovative microphone renowned for its gorgeous audio production. It's crystal clear response made it an instant best-seller, and it is the microphone of choice in thousands of Ham shacks around the world today.
The GM is equipped with Heil Sound's full-range "Pro" broadcast mic element, plus your choice of the HC-4 "DX Dream" dynamic elemen (GM 4) or the HC-5 (GM 5) tailored dynamic element. The "broadcast" element has a broad response of 50 Hz to 13 kHz, with a +4 dB peak at 2000 Hz for excellent articulation, along with a big bottom end that produces outstanding, studio-quality fidelity.
The GM includes the Heil-exclusive "Light Touch" PTT switch, and is encased in a beautifully-finished high-gloss black lacquer enclosure. The GM is fitted with a 4-pin XLR connector compatible with the Heil CC-1 Series of adapter cables. The GM Series Microphones are shipped with a windscreen and microphone clip. The optional SM-1 Shock Mount is a popular accessory for the GM, as it suppresses vibrations that can be picked up from accessories like amplifier or computer fans, etc.
A special "GM Vintage" version is also available. The GM Vintage is a high-impedance (Z = 30 k ) version of the GM designed for use with older tube-type "Boat-anchor" transmitters. A selective passive-equalization circuit rolls off the last 1½ octaves for an ideal frequency response for these older rigs.
And for use on many of the recent Icom rigs (such as the IC-746/756 "Pro" series, and the IC-7800), a 1 µF non-polarized DC blocking capacitor is installed.

Note: Each of the CC-1 Adapter Cables is terminated on one end to mate with the GM microphone connector. The other end of the cable terminates in a connector compatible with your rig. A ¼" in-line female phone jack is provided in the CC-1 Adapter Cable for connection to our FS-2 Foot Switch or HS-2 Hand Switch, for PTT activation. The CB-1 PTT Base includes a PTT switch and cable for connection to the CC-1 PTT input jack.
