Heil Sound at Huntsville
National Hamfest/ARRL National Convention
Chip Margelli, K7JA conducted a seminar on "Audio Sound Reinforcement in the Modern Amateur Station" and also showed off the first production run of The Fin.
The weekend of August 17-19 saw Heil Sound's Vice President for Amateur Sales and Marketing Chip Margelli, K7JA, conducting a seminar on "Audio Sound Reinforcement in the Modern Amateur Station" and working the Heil Sound booth at the Von Braun Center in toasty Huntsville, Alabama at the combined Huntsville Hamfest and ARRL National Convention.
On display was the first production unit of The Fin, which caused a considerable stir among Hams looking for the ultimate "Retro" look in their stations. The Heil Sound booth displayed all the boomsets, base and hand-held microphones, and boom systems in our product line. The Fin was illuminated by phantom power from a Behringer UB-802 Equalizer, so that prospective owners could see the gorgeous appearance of this new professional microphone. Sales were brisk on the PR 781, other PR (professional) mics, GM Series, Travelers, Handi Mics, and the ever-popular Pro Sets.
The attendance was huge, with many thousands of Hams flocking to Huntsville from neighboring states and a number of foreign countries. As the doors opened, the lobby of the Von Braun Center was full, with people lined up out the main doors waiting to get in.
The Huntsville Hamfest, year after year, does a great job of supporting their exhibitors, and it's a "don't miss" event on the hamfest calendar.
